Words of Encouragement mini-album

I've been collecting encouraging Bible verses, quotes, etc. for a while now, although I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with them. I've hit a few rough patches recently, and these words helped me get through them. I decided to put them all together in a mini-album that I can pull out and flip through whenever I need a little pick-me-up. The album I'm using is from Creative Memories, and it's mostly navy blue, with a pink strap and magnetic closure; the inside sleeves are pale grey. I sat down one evening, and in the space of just a couple of hours, made the title page and verse card shown below, along with 22 other blank cards for the other verses I'm going to be using. The backgrounds for the verse cards will aternate pink and navy; for example, the next two will be pink, then two navy, etc. I realized, too late of course, that I had mounted the white cardstock upside down. The textured side was supposed to be down, not up, so that I'd have a smooth writing surface. Oops! Oh well. While challenging to write on the textures surface, it is still able to be written on.

My Smile Book

The Smile Book album idea came from a mini (and I mean really mini - it was made from a business card holder) album that I made a year or so ago with pictures, stickers, quotes, etc. that made me happy. When I was having a rough day, I would pull it out and flip through it and the little cards always made me smile. When I discovered the Creative Memories PicFOlio Minutes album, and after seeing how quickly they could come together after doing one for Mom for Mother's Day last year, I decided to make my little album a little bigger. So far I've got the title page, one page that I've made and a postcard in it (I've only got pics of the title page and the page that I made though). I've got so many cute scrapbooking things that I've bought just because they're cute that I haven't wanted to use because they're so, well, cute. I decided that my Smile Book would also be a good place to finally use and show off some of these things. I've got lots of ideas, though, so it probably won't be long before my little album is filled. Anywho, without further ado, here are my title page and first page.

Welcome to my new blog!

I decided to create a separate place to share all of my scrapping and crafting projects, so that I could keep my other blog for my thoughts and ramblings. Now that I've figured out how to save picutres from my digital camera to my computer, I'm planning on posting a LOT more of my creative pursuits. Because they're mine, I think they're wonderful and deserve a special showcase all of their own. The first few projects are already posted on the other blog, but I decided that they should be here as well. In the next little while, I'm hoping to have some new stuff to share, but for now, here's some of my "old" stuff for you to look at again.
